4-yr letterman at Indianapolis Arsenal Tech…team won 2 city, 2 sectional and 1 regional title…lost in semi-state to state champions Madison as a senior…played as a freshman at Butler before joining Air Force in Korean War…upon graduation from Butler, he began a career as teacher and coach in Indianapolis schools…returned to Tech in 1964, serving as head coach from 1971-1985…won 3 city championships, 3 sectional, 2 regionals and a school record 183 games…coached high school All-Americans Antonio Martin in 1976 and Landon Turner in 1978. He was named to the Hall of Fame’s Silver Anniversary Team in 1975 and named Marion County Coach of the Year in 1977.
