Captained 1931 Terre Haute Wiley team to 2 victories in the “Sweet 16″ state tourney … Gimbel Award winner … scored 6 of his team’s 10 points in loss to Greencastle … All-State … 4 varsity letters … also starred in football and track … All-State football player in ‘30 … played for “Piggy” Lambert at Purdue … 3-year letterman … as a junior , led Western Conference in scoring … All-State, all-conference and All-American that year, ‘34 … captained the team the following season … played 2 years with Indianapolis Kautskys … 1 season with U.S. Navy Pre-Flight … coached at Alexandria, Terre Haute Gerstmeyer and Terre Haute Wiley … in ‘52 moved to Fullerton High School in California to become chairman of social studies department. Deceased.
