HIGH SCHOOL: Selma High School 1958
COLLEGE: Ball State University 1962
Graduate of Selma High School where he played baseball, basketball and track. Forty-six year coaching career, Chester Center, Center, Connersville, Lawrenceburg and Merrillville 28 years. Won 16 sectionals, 6 regionals, 1 semi-state and state runner-up in 1995 to Ben Davis. Leads the Duneland Athletic Conference with 12 titles. Holds the consecutive DAC win record with 25 games. Ball State Alumnus Coach of the Year and IBA District Coach of the Year 1995. Indiana All-Star Coach. Achieved 500 wins in 2000-01. Merrillville Coaches Hall of Fame, Delaware County Athletic Hall of Fame. Coached and gave clinics in four continents – Africa, Australia, Asia and Europe.
