Leonard Wood in Missouri…Northwest Indiana’s first Mr. Basketball … led Gary Roosevelt to state final game in 1955, scoring 31 in a losing effort to Oscar Robertson’s Crispus Attucks team … record setting 97 points in Sweet 16 and Final Four games … member of Indiana All-Star team … MVP at Purdue in 1958 … 3 year varsity player… Was drafted by the Minneapolis Lakers and in 1960 was voted ‘Most Valuable Player’ in the 5th Army BasketbalL Tournament.
