Leading scorer and captain of Indianapolis Cathedral’s 1931 team named first team All-American in National Catholic Tournament twice a captain of Tony Hinkle-coached Butler teams, ’37 and ’38 leading scorer as a senior in ’38 All-State that season named to Marquette University’s all-opponent team considered by Hinkle as Butler’s best all-time defensive player as a high school coach, guided Evansville Reitz Memorial to state Catholic championship in ’41 career coaching record of 477-233 at Reitz, St. Joseph’s College, and Tipton, Franklin and Goshen high schools won sectional and regional at Goshen, where he turned a struggling program around, posting 10 straight winning seasons.
