A 4-sport standout at Lafayette Jefferson All-State basketball at Notre Dame, earned 3 letters in both football and basketball captain and All-State forward on basketball team Western Conference champions in ’26 a long and successful career in coaching football and basketball coach at St. Vincent College ’26-32 coached same 2 sports for 13 years at Xavier Notre Dame basketball coach ’44-45, then a year as football coach at Iowa Statemoving into pro ranks, coached Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Coltson to Canada, as head coach of Ottawa Rough Riders ’51-’54, and British Columbia Lions ’55-’59.
