All-city and all-sectional performer at Shortridge…Blue Devils’ captain and MVP before graduating in 1941…member of Indiana all-star team that year…all-city football…2 years captain of Univ of Michigan basketball team…Wolverines MVP in ’43 and ’46…played in first East-West all star game in Madison Square Garden…Asst Coach at Mich from ’48-59…head coach 1 season at Idaho, then returned to his alma mater as head coach in ’60…coached Wolverines to two Big Ten titles and made two trips to the Final Four.
