Coached at Crawfordsville as well as successful high school programs in Illinois, Utah & South Dakota; Indiana State University A 3-sport athlete at Crawfordsville High School, graduating in 1905 played basketball & football at Wabash College, coached his high school alma mater to first state title in ’11, also coached successful high school programs in Illinois, Utah, & South Dakota returned to home state to coach Indiana State 10 years retired in ’52 after 41 years of coaching. Held a master’s from IU and a doctorate from Columbia, awarded a Gold Medal during World War I for his part in defense of Verdun.
