4-yr letterman at Indianapolis Arsenal Tech . . . team won 2 city, 2 sectional and 1 regional title . . . lost in semi-state to state champions Madison as a senior . . . played as a freshman at Butler before joining Air Force in Korean War . . . upon graduation from Butler, he began a career as teacher and coach in Indianapolis schools . . . returned to Tech in 1964, serving as head coach from 1971-1985 . . . won 3 city championships, 3 sectional, 2 regionals and a school record 183 games . . . coached high school All-Americans Antonio Martin in 1976 and Landon Turner in 1978 . . . he was named to the Hall of Fame’s Silver Anniversary Team in 1975 and named Marion County Coach of the Year in 1977.
