Coached at Stinesville High School for 2 years, then Kokomo 8 years…Kokomo won North Central Conference championship in ’39…7 sectional titles, 4 regionals and a semifinal championship…coaching career interrupted by World War II… A 3-sport athlete at Shelbyville High School … took his talents to Indiana University, where he won 2 letters … co-captained Hoosiers as a senior in ’32 … though only 5’7″, named Big 10’s top defensive player in ’31, holding ‘his man’ to just eight-tenths of a point per game … held the legendary John Wooden to 2 baskets in one game and scoreless in another … repeatedly referred to in the media as ‘the biggest little man on the floor. Deceased.
