As president of Associated Sports Productions, Pate administered the Indiana High School Athletic Association’s radio and television packages and its corporate sponsorship activities for the past 22 years … both are premier programs among state high school associations in the U.S … a native of Tennessee, Pate joined WSBT in South Bend in 1962 … during his eleven-yr. tenure at WSBT Radio & Television, as Sports Dir., he did play by play of more than 100 high school basketball and football games as well as Notre Dame basketball … in 1972 began an 18-yr. stint as play by play voice of the Purdue football radio network and the Purdue basketball television network…joined Cranfill & Company in Indianapolis in 1973…Associated Sports Production is a sister company to Cranfill.
