Named to the 1949 Indiana All-Star Team after an outstanding career at Portland High School . . . as a sophomore scored final three points in an upset at Hartford City to win the sectional 33-32 . . . Junior year led team to a 26-2 record and a runner-up slot at the semi-state . . . during 18 years coaching career won 228 games and lost 150 . . . led Albany H.S. to school’s best record of 18-3 in 1958-59 . . . 1963-64 Selma team had undefeated 21-0 regular seasonand won tough Delaware County Tournament . . . 1966-67 Bluebird Team was the first Delaware County school outside of the City of Muncie to win a sectional . . . ended coaching career at Cambridge City H.S. in 1985.
