Played in 2 state tourneys for Evansville Central…3-year stand-out at DePauw…team captain as senior…much-praised player in days before All-American teams…named to all-Western first team in ’27…coached 16 seasons at Tipton High School…11 sectional crowns and 2 regional titles…3 championships in Central Indiana Athletic Conference, a league he helped found…coached Tipton to 26-0 mark in ’36 before losing to Kokomo in regional…moving to Elwood, won 3 more CIAC titles in 9 years. After retiring from coaching, served as Elwood’s athletic director 2 and a half decades.
