Starting every game of his four-year career, he totaled 1,178 points, becoming the all-time leading scorer in the Knightstown facility that would come to be known as the “Hoosier Gym”… set all Knightstown scoring records including single-game (47), season (545), season field goals (213) single-game field goals (18) and free throws… was a sophomore for Knightstown’s 1958 sectional championship, the first in school history…  averaged 15.7 points as a junior and 24.8 points as a senior and was two-time East Central Conference Player of the Year… a two-time team captain at Louisiana State University under HOF coach Jay McCreary, he averaged 14.2 points his senior season, earning honorable mention all-SEC honors…  drafted by the ABA New Orleans Buccaneers in 1964.
