Member of South Bend LaSalle’s first ever varsity basketball team in 1965…  went on to play both basketball and baseball at Olivet College… coached 17 years at South Bend Clay, New Prairie and South Bend Riley, winning 233 games…  thrilling 93-88 1994 overtime state championship victory over undefeated and #1-ranked Valparaiso set state finals record for most combined points… teams won five conference championships, the South Bend Holiday Tournament and he was named Metro Coach of the Year three times, Northern Indiana Conference Coach of the Year four times, and 1994 State Coach of the Year
