Three-year varsity starter for Madison High School. Leading scorer and rebounder two years. First player in school history to score 1,000 career points, total career points 1,019. 1941 team runner-up in state tournament, lost championship game to Washington. Scored 60 points in final four tournament games for 15.0 avg. 1942 team lost one regular season game, picked to win the state. Played for Hall of Fame coach Ward “Piggy” Lambert at Purdue. College career was interrupted by military service. Played with top caliber service teams while serving in the U.S. Navy. Deceased 1978.
