This is the story of Roger Kaiser – Georgia tech’s first all-American basketball player and a college coach who won four national championships. From the sidelines, his story is a fairytale. He married his high school sweetheart and played two seasons of professional basketball in a chaotic league that forever changed the basketball establishment. He never planned to coach but he spent thirty years at West Georgia College and Life University. Roger Kaiser’s life has not been without setbacks, however. He lost a daughter and a sister to cancer and survived two bouts with the disease himself. these days he coaches the middle school basketball team at Mt. Bethel Christian Academy in suburban Atlanta. Much of his time is spent raising funds for the Alexis Kaiser Foundation, which supports children with special needs, including his energetic granddaughter.
