Barney Scott

Earned 9 varsity letters in 3 sports…captained football, basketball and baseball teams his senior yr…4-year regular at Hanover, starting 89 games at guard…defensive specialist, but led team in scoring as senior…all-conf. MVP and leading scorer as senior…coached teams to 334 victories…losing season first year, then 19 straight winners…champs in 3 different conferences…5 times named coach of year…11 sectional, 6 regional titles…District 5 Coach of the Year in 1971. Barney is past-president of Indiana High School Athletic Directors Association, and Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. Seymour honored him by renaming its facility the ‘Barney Scott Gymnasium.’
