Winner of the Trester Award as a senior at Indianapolis Crispus Attucks High School in 1951 … 2-year varsity player for Coach Ray Crowe, and a member of the first Attucks unit to make Final Four … member of ’51 Indiana All-Star team … very active in all school activities … among his many honors off the court was being named Student Council president … made University of Michigan varsity as a freshman, but decided to continue his schooling in his hometown … played 3 seasons at Indiana Central.
