State championship series was begun during senior year, 1975-76…Rough Riders only defeat that season came during the afternoon round of the state championship to Warsaw, who captured the crown later that night…served as captain of the East Chicago basketball team senior year…1976-77 and again in 1978-79 East Chicago Roosevelt went undefeated and won the IHSAA State Basketball Championship… went on to become the first black female athlete to play basketball for Purdue University … earned a B.S. degree in Pharmacy … 2001 Silver Anniversary Team.
