Basketball’s ambassador…11-yr career in exhibition pro and semi- pro basketball in the 20s…signed on with the Converse Rubber Co. during that time, leading to a career of basketball breakthroughs…in ’22 created the first basketball clinic…that same yr, produced 1st Converse Yearbook of Basketball, containing the first All-American selections…in ’31 he designed the basketball shoe that bears his name and nearly 60 years later still the standard by which ‘high-tops’ were measured… logged millions of miles all around the world, giving teaching exhibitions that averaged crowds of 6000.
