The leader of two very strong Bedford teams in 1920 and ’22, each of which was eliminated from state tourney by the legendary Franklin Wonder Five … Gimbel Award winner in ’20 … at 87, the oldest living mental attitude recipient at the time of his Hall of Fame induction … four-year letterman at DePauw … a star player for team that beat five Big 10 teams in one season … smallest player on team, but handled duties as floor general and designated free-throw shooter. Deceased.
