A 6-7 center who led his Muncie Central Bearcats to 2 state finals … lost to Washington as a junior … won state championship a year later, in 1931 … one of the first true “big men” … a 3-year starter at Muncie Central … All-State in ’31 … 2 years at Wilberforce University … played 4 years of professional basketball with Chicago Crusaders … that team played all of the top pro teams around the nation … named to professional all-star team … later became a distinguished 20-year member of the Muncie Police Department … an accident on a New Castle golf course left him paralyzed in 1974
