Joe Dean

A 2-yr starter at New Albany High School captain his senior year leading scorer that season, with team reaching semistate all-sectional, all-regional, all-semistate all conference, and 3rd team All-State 3-time all-Southeastern Conference performer at Louisiana State University twice Tigers’ leading scorer captain in senior year, gaining All-American mention played in college all-star game member of LSU Athletic Hall of Fame 4 seasons with Phillips 66 Oilers, captaining squad 2 years became teams highest scoring guard in its history. He was an alternate on the ’56 Olympic team. He later worked as a color analyst for college basketball games with Turner Broadcasting.
