Keith Crown

An Iowa native whose first job was in YMCA work, 1912-17 started teaching and coaching career at Gary in ’18 served as athletic director and basketball coach at Horace Mann H. S. for 12 years coached the school’s basketball team for 40 years was a pioneer in the pivot play, and with the jump-shot technique early president of Indiana High School Coaches Assn officiated in more than 1,000 high school basketball games organizer and president of state’s first assn of high school basketball officials introduced and used the 1st white basketball shoes in the stateafter retiring from education, worked as a radio sports commentator, working 452 high school and college football and basketball games. Deceased.
