L.V. Phillips

Served as commissioner of the Indiana High School Athletic Association from 1944 to 1962, following years as teacher and school administrator… under his leadership, football and basketball coaching schools were established, as was a testing and rating system for athletic officials…a man who believed that sports should develop the entire boy, not mearely his physique, and also develop character, a competitive spirit and a sense of fair play.
