Coach Rohrer of Wakarusa High School had difficulty filling a roster in 1928, but found his answer in Lenore Doering whose talents were used on the high school practice squad while in the 7th and 8th grades…became a four-year starter playing one of two forward positions, Indiana girls’ high school basketball during this era played with six players on a three court divided floor…girls were limited to a single dribble…led the Wakarusa Sweethearts to a 63-5 victory over Jefferson H.S. near Goshen scoring 47 points, shooting one-handed lay-ups and difficult to guard two handed set shots while her teammates and opponents were still shooting two handed underhand shots starting between their legs. Deceased.
