Captained 1931 Terre Haute Wiley team to 2 victories in the ‘Sweet 16’ state tourney Gimbel Award winner scored 6 of his team’s 10 points in loss to Greencastle All-State 4 varsity letters also starred in football and track All-State football player in ’30 played for ‘Piggy’ Lambert at Purdue 3-year letterman as a junior , led Western Conference in scoring All-State, all-conference and All-American that year, ’34 captained the team the following season played 2 years with Indianapolis Kautskys 1 season with U.S. Navy Pre-Flight coached at Alexandria, Terre Haute Gerstmeyer and Terre Haute Wiley in ’52 moved to Fullerton High School in California to become chairman of social studies department.
