Sam Scheivley

MVP, leading scorer and rebounder both his junior and senior years at Sunman High School … earned 4 varsity letters before graduating in 1937 …  also 4 varsity letters and 2 MVP awards as a baseball player … started as a sophomore at Wabash College … captained the team his junior year … also starred on Little Giants’ baseball team for 2 years … signed a professional baseball contract after his junior year … played in the Boston Red Sox organization … in ’42 and ’43, during Air Force service, played basketball with the Kessler Field Commandos, winning southern service team championship … returned to Indiana University to complete education before beginning a career in business.
