A 2-yr letter-winner for Evansville Central…led team to regional title as a senior…also won hotly contested city title that year…a 4-yr player for Evansville College…team captain as a senior…Aces’ high scorer that year…played with an Evansville independent team…entered coaching ranks, and in ’47 became varsity coach at his high school alma mater…Central won sectional, regional and semi-state a year later, losing ’48 state title game to Lafayette Jefferson…coached Central to 4 city championships, 3 conference titles, 5 sectionals and 5 regionals…in 7 seasons his teams posted 132-43 record…retired from coaching to become an Evansville school administration.
