Twice captained his basketball team at Greenwood High School, graduating in 1928…all-county and all-sectional as both a junior and senior…also captained football team, and lettered in track, baseball and wrestling…continued in basketball and football at Franklin College…2-yr team captain in both sports…2-yr all-state selection in both sports…a 3-yr starting guard for Coach Griz Wagner…coached 2 years at Paoli High School…served 9 seasons as athletic director at Seymour’s Shields High School.
