The board of directors of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame has voted to postpone the 2020 men’s and women’s banquet ceremonies scheduled for October 15 and October 17 due to the complexities and uncertainties surrounding COVID-19.
The organization expects to hold banquets in 2021 to honor those previously selected for 2020 recognition – reschedule dates are not yet determined and will be based on public health conditions and guidelines.
Those originally selected as the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame induction Class of 2020 will now become the Class of 2021, with no additional inductees selected for the coming year. A 2021 Silver Anniversary Team, recognizing top high school seniors from 1996, will be selected and added to 2021 banquet ceremonies.
2021 banquet dates will be publicized as far in advance as possible.
Anyone with 2020 banquet reservations may begin requesting refunds through the Hall of Fame office immediately by calling (765) 529-1891 or emailing email@example.com.
Reservations may be held for anyone wishing to plan for 2021 dates or they can be accepted as donations to the Hall of Fame (a tax-deductible contribution) if they do not plan to be used.
Cancellation of 2021 induction balloting also means the Public Meeting for Candidate Nomination, previously scheduled for Thursday, September 17 will not occur.
