HOF hosts Henry County Boys High School Basketball History contest

May 20, 2013

Do you remember the days of high schools and basketball teams from Mooreland, Cadiz and New Lisbon?  Think you know the top players, coaches and teams from Henry County-s past, easily recalling the Mr. Basketball winners and state champion teams?

The Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame may have just the type of contest you-re suited for.

The Hall of Fame will sponsor a Henry County Boys High School Basketball history contest the week of May 27 – June 1 to see who really does know the most about past basketball teams, players and coaches from the area.

The contest questionnaire relays questions from nearly 100 years of high school basketball history in the county, including a nod to the numerous schools that have since vanished due to consolidation.  Up to 135 points are possible in the fill-in-the-blank contest.

The history contest questionnaire will be available beginning at Noon on Monday, May 27 at the New Castle Henry County Chamber of Commerce Memorial Day festival near Baker Park.  It will also be available throughout the week at the Hall of Fame museum at 408 Trojan Lane and on their website, www.hoopshall.com.

In conjunction with the contest and Memorial Day festival, the Hall of Fame museum will be open with free admission from Noon to 6:00 PM on Monday, May 27.

Questionnaires must be returned to the Hall of Fame office in person before 5:00 PM on Saturday, June 1 to be eligible for the grand prize, which includes four (4) tickets to the Indiana – Kentucky high school All-Star games at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Saturday, June 15.

Following the completion of the competition, answers to the contest will be posted on the Hall of Fame-s website.
